Power to fuel pump

Hi all.

My old 87 s10 Blazer (2.8 auto) must have broken a clip on the small wiring harness that goes to the oil filter housing. The wires got snaggd on the front driveshaft and ripped every wire from the 2 plugs on the housing. Now there is no power to the fuel pump.

I was told that I can temporarily bypass if I can get power to the wire that leads directly to the fuel tank.

Anyone know how to do this so I can get it to my house?

This happened a while ago but a work accident took me out for a while.

Thanks to all and drive safe today.

Ok let me try this.

Does anyone know the proper location for those wires on the sending units in the housing?

The plastic plugs are gone.

you could check out autozone.com and their repair manual. Its a chiltons manual online with alot of wiring diagrams

Are you talking about the wires to the oil pressure switch? If so, you should be able to just twist the wires together and get power back to the pump. You need to check the fuses, too, and make sure one didn't blow while the wire were being destroyed.

Thanks guys.

I had been hoping to avoid just twisting the wires together but it appears that may be my best option after all. Auto Zone didnt have exactly whaty I needed.

I will just get the hot wire and find which one goes to the tank as best I can.

Thanks again.

I had the wires on my 88 get caught in my front driveshaft also. Chewed them up pretty good too. I just went to a salvage yard for a couple of replacement plugs. That way I could just match up the colored wires.
