High rev, stall - high octane problem

I made the mistake of putting way too much octane booster in my car. I had only 4 gallons of gas in it, then I put enough treatment to turn 22 gallons to 108 octane. I'm not sure of the math but it turned out to be very potent. The car started shooting out black smoke and it'll idle at 2000 RPM, wont switch gears right, stall when I let off the gas. I checked the spark plugs and they were ok - I took out the one o2 sensor that is after the catalytic converter and cleaned the carbon out of it. I've also tried to reset the computer by leaving the car overnight with the battery unplugged, when you plug the car back in it works fine until it stalls, going thru bad gas or something....then the SES light comes on and it starts driving like a pos. I get about 10 mpg now and i've gone through over 2 tanks of gas, I've spent about 100 dollars in gas and it's still acting bad. I thought if I diluted it enough it would go away but I guess not. I had a few more ideas....maybe the fuel injectors are clogged with carbon? So I could clean those out, and I guess there is a second o2 sensor before the catalytic converter, I could try cleaning that too...am I on the right track? Does anyone have any tips? What could be some problems that I could try to fix?

How many miles on your GP? What model or engine? What brand octane boost did you use? A lot of octane boosters on the market are also de-carbonizers and/or fuel injector cleaner. Might want to change out the fuel filter and check fuel system pressure at the rails (45 - 55 psi).
Plus clean the 02 sensor before the CAT.

It is a 2000 gtp, and it was 108 octane booster, it comes in a big can that treats 44 gallons - i'd say around a liter size bottle, they sell it at pep boys. My friend has an error code checker, and it is reading P0101 - MAF or VAF CKT range/performance, I have no idea what it means. I will try changing the fuel filter tomorrow when stores are open, and research on what that error code is supposed to mean. Thanks for your help, I will clean the other air sensor tomorrow too and let you know what happens with those 2 things.

MAF - Mass Airflow Sensor. It is located on your throttle body. It has hot wire elements that let the ECU/PCM know about air intake, etc. It is critical in ECU open loop mode operation - accelerating, initial idle/warmup, etc. You can clean it with good throttle body cleaner but be very careful. So you should have an SES light on?
To troubleshoot simply disconnect the MAF sensor. There is a standard GM electrical plug on it, disconnect, and take it out for a spin. The ECU will use pre-programmed RPM values for MAF in the interim.
If the cleaning doesn't work you'll have to replace it. Easy job! Good luck!

Well here are my 2 cents worth. I used that oct booster before and it turned my sparkplugs white. I would check the maf sencer and all of the o2 sencers. What i do no to raise my oct. is i put approx 8 gal of 94 oct from sonoco and put 2(approx) gal og 110oct which will bring ut up to about 105. I know gt 100 from somoco is probably the highest and safest you can go w/o killing fuel injectors and seals, catalitic and more. Like i said before, just check all of stuff. Just my 2 cents.

I cleaned out the MAF and it works almost perfect now. My mechanic said there is probably still a little carbon floatin around inside the engine and itll work its way out. It works perfect except once in a great while itll stall or something. I am going to try cleaning the MAF again - thanks for your advice everyone!

That's good news. I clean the MAF sensor every 6 months and to include the throttle body intake screen. That K&N air filter oil spray I use has a tendency to get by and into the TB. Good luck!
