US standards?

i was looking to get a Nissan Skyline, either R34 or R33, not sure yet, but i was wondering,,....how much would it be to ship from UK, Canada, or Japan? how much will it cost to make it pass the US inspections Legally (i already know illegal ways)? and will it be easy to get a vin number legally)?

i was reading an old copy of superstreet where they interviewed the asshole who owns Motorex and he said that they will help you get one into the country and legalize it for you.

they of course will charge you, but i suspect it would be less than buying one they did themselves.

they just siad that there are no gaurantees to the ones you find yourselves.

You can't get an R34 legalized in the states. They are NOT on the list. The later R33s are not legal either. Forget it little one. Save up.

first things first, you obviously havent read the stickies (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=339883). we WERE able to get skylines later model skylines (90-95) until recently, when motorex is now not legalizing any cars (pending because of about 40 class action lawsuits against hiro). even sean (morris) has hinted that he thinks hiro is going to up and leave the country. so...no skylines right now. about 10 r34's made it through motorex's hands and onto US streets. about 5 or less of them are personally owned. not only is that almost a 100k car when all is said and done, but they were only legalized for a short period before the OBDII issues were found. incase you retards didnt know (noobs, not the usual guys), OBDII is the newest form of emissions on board diagnostics (hence..OBD). on-board diagnostic systems are in most cars and light trucks on the road today. during the 70s and early 80s, manufacturers started using electronic systems to control engine functions and diagnose engine problems. this was primarily used to meet EPA standards. over the years, it has evolved in intracicy (SP??!?) of how the engine is monitered and what is monitered. OBD0, OBDI and now OBDII. the onboard diagnostics found in the skylines did not meet EPA standards. legalization was stopped on the 96+ skylines (96 was when OBDII was first put into use). now, because of legality issues, no skylines are permitted on public roads unless imported for show/race use only. before you get too excited, you might want to

you can get Skyline shipped from Japan and other place to US but it does cost alot and not many people do it.. reason First of all it cost alot of money just to ship the car and then for the Inspection it cost about $ 85000 or something last time i read it..... Your looking at a high cost thatz all i can say...

I hope it is...please tell me that its a mistype -.-...Fonz...Motorex is gone...No more skylines buddy, unless you got some seriouse connections...or well your just loaded with $$$. (most of us arn't) You might be able to ship it, but it probably won't stay...
