Chromer fender flares look pimpy?

When I bought the truck used (C2500) 2000 model year it came with the chrome fenders flares that the previous owner installed (as shown), Iīm thinking of taking them off because I take it off road and the rocks have now placed huge dents on the flares (I did get airborne by the way on that occasion, I was able to hit 70 mph on the dirt road, it was straight and wide). My question is, should I get new ones or do you think the chrome ones make the truck look "pimpy" like a buddy from Michigan said to me. By the way somebody stole my LH fog lamp, they didnīt take the right one because it was fogged up with mud from previous excursions in the dirt, they only stole the good one, what aftermarket lamp fits the gap?

My personal opinion I hate chrome fender flares. Had them on my S-10 and hated them every day. To me they devalue the look of the truck. :2cents:

Not so much pimpy, but more of a Mexican thing. At least it is around here. But, if you like them, then keep them by all means

How about a different idea? I notice that your side trim is chrome with black on a white truck. Chevy now produces a white trim with chrome - like my truck has (see gallery). I'm thinking that putting that white trim with chrome on instead of the black/chrome - might make the flares in chrome look classy - instead of "pimp". Just a suggestion.

Not against a white truck, they don't look pimpy. Now, if you had more chrome effects like a chrome gas cap, spinners, the area below the door guard and the ground done in chrome, etc. Yeah.
Go with whatever you feel comfortable with, to hell with whatever anyone else thinks. Its your truck.

I'm with Faze3, I was told all black accent would look like a brother ride, I think not and I am the one that counts. :gives:
Figure out the look you want and make it work, nothing is wrong with chrome when you put it together the way you want it. :sunglasse
Find your groove and make it happen, if others think it looks pimp then I guess they just don't want to ride:flipa:... more room for you!!!

Yeah, that's sorta the problem I ran into when I pulled my SIERRA bugflector off the front of my SILVERADO. The old owner must have been some kind of idiot and it had rubbed paint off something fierce.

I personally like the chrome look. However, having said that too much chrome looks gawdy and ridiculous. I think that my truck has just enough chrome to set it off nicely. Rims, Door Handles, Mirrors, Fender Flares, and just along the side trim.
Just my :2cents: .

I don't care for them, but I am also not a big fan of most of the aftermarket bling bling. Trucks can be tastefully modified for a performance look, but they can also be just flat out GAWDY with too much crap stuck all over them. It is extremely easy to get caught up in the craze and over-accesorize your rig, resulting in light pockets and a truck that doesn't look as nice as it used to. I usually listen to my wife if she calls me "Billy Bob" when I show her some truck accessory that I think looks cool.
Your truck is not over done, and looks nice either way. Just my 2 cents, although that may be all my opinion's worth.

LOL. Like I said, I'm sure nobody cares about my opinion.
But since you brought it up...I'd rather have body colored handles to try to blend them in instead of trying to make them stand out.

I'm thinking about that, also... Or maybe even the Escalade type

Well, I took them off today, I almost cried, the previous owner used self tapping screws! Since they were banged up there was gunk all over the place, I am glad there is no salt over here, the paint job was ok an I think it looks better without them, but I am going to have to clean and paint those nasty holes so the rust doesnīt start.
