B16 questions

hey a freind of mine has a 1990 honda civic hatch that he swapped a b16 (not sure exactly which one, but assuming not b16b). I am thinking about buying it off of him soon. but i was just wondering the best and cheapest way to add a little more power to it. i would love to turbo it but i don't think i have enough money. the body also has like 300000 kms on it so is there any suggestions as to thing i should specifically look at to make sure are in good condition? basically any suggestions about anything would be nice

Intake, Header, Exhaust, Cam Gears, Fuel Rail, clutch, There's tons you can do man. Just peep eBay, or a online car store and you will find a endless source of parts.
