Went to the track for the first time...

Yes, that's correct. First ever going to a track to race. It's a local track here called Sunset Dragstrip. It's only 1/8th mile but it was still fun. $10 will get ya to run all day. Unfortunately they don't time. Me and my friend with a 97 GS-T hardtop went up together. First race i had was against an older Celica. Got him by 3 car lenghts at least. Then i raced my friend with the GS-T. He got me the first and second run we had. I only lost by half a car lenght, if that. Then we raced again and i got a beautiful launch and got him by at least a car length. Then i raced a tiburon with a body kit, ate it alive. Raced a newer Cavalier, ate him alive. Then to my surprise my friend was running against a Z28. They raced once and my friend almost got him, so i decided to run him. So we go at it...Got a decent launch, he got a better launch. Pulled on him very quick. Got to about 50 or so, he caught up a tad and i beat him by maybe half a car length. Raced an older Trans Am auto w/ a 350. Beat him to my surprise. Then some chick had a Camaro, she asked if i wanted to race. I said of course. Got on the strip, she does a burnout and my car gets scared! Supercharged! So we line up, and she ate me all the way down the track. After the race i was talking to her and she said it runs high 11's...I said "yeah thanks for telling me it was supercharged!" lol. The only thing i didn't like about this strip is it's only 1/8 mile, no times, and you kinda have to avoid pot holes and shit on the way down lol. (Not really pot holes, but the track isn't in the best shape). Oh well i needed to race cause i haven't raced very much in a while. All in all it was fun.

Sounds like fun, unfortunetly here in Ontario you can only go down the track by yourself. If you wanna race someone you need a racing licence. Still fun, we just go by time sheets to determine winner.

LOL sounds like a ghetto track!!! But i bet it was fun. Here at a 1/4 mile strip i run at called Nappierville dragway on tuesdays from 7pm to 11pm it only cost $5 to run as many times as you want.

Ehh, even though this is an oldie, I'll add my experience last night lol.

I went to the local track with the intention on running to see how the FMIC helped, but I didn't run. On the way there, just as I got off the on ramp to the turnpike (track is bout 30 min highway ride + 20 min regular streets), I started to notice that my front right felt like it was shaking for some reason. Don't know why, but it just started happening right then. I was still going to run though, but when I was letting the car cool down a little while I watched the races, like every other 2 cars would have a problem on the track. One car, don't remember what it was, was down on the track for atleast 15 minutes while they cleaned up. Wasn't a good night for the track, so I decided to not run, and just watch. Gotta find out what the shaking is :(

I wanted to see what I ran after the fmic, but it's not worth wrecking the car, or being hurt.

There is always next time.

Does the shake get worst the faster you go? When you give it gae does it get worse? I had a real bad shake going down the highway. Anything over 60 was bad and when i gave it gas pAst that it was bad!! It would shake my hat off my head lol. Come to find out i had a bad CV shaft on the driver side!! So check that shit out man GL.

Ya, it does get worse the faster I go. But on normal driving, it isn't THAT noticeable, but I can feel it. I'm going to Mitsu tommorow anyway for my timing belt, so I'll tell them to drive the car and see if they feel a shake, I'm not gonna just tell them what side it's on lol.

If it's the CV boot then it should be FREE! There was a Mitsu recall on the lower lateral arm ball joints on the front. I get some shaking too when I'm turning left going above like 30 or so. It's kind of like a "waaaa" "waaaaaa" fealing/noise that lasts for about a second and then starts over again. And I think it gets faster as I go faster. Gotta find out what it is.

Yeah that's the one I'm talking about. It is kind of a ghetto 1/8th mi. track but it's fun and something to do. And you can't go wrong at $10 to run it all day.
