OBC / Instrument Cluster Matching

My OBC and Instrument cluster are out of sync. The instruments work fine, but all the lights at the bottom go through this haywire routine before settling down every time I use the car. At first it didn't happen, but now it happens all the time.

I'm sure it is due to the instrument cluster and the OBC having different software.

Does anyone know where there is a guide, or list that can be referenced that shows how to identify the software revision of the OBC and the instrument cluster and confirm compatability before I buy and install yet another instrument cluster hoping it is a match? My manual makes reference to the need for compatability, but does not detail how to determine that they are compatible.

Also, can a guy simply pop out the milage chip and re-install it in the new instrument cluster and have the milage be correct?
