1999 Dodge Intrepid (2.7L) A/C problem

Hi,

I have a '99 Dodge Intrepid and the A/C isnt working. I thought it was the Freon so I had it filled up. But a couple days later while driving early in the morning I saw gas coming out of the A/C vents which I thought was vapor. Surely enough later that afternoon (quite obviously) the A/C quit cooling. Does anyone know what the problem is? Does it have anything to do with the Evaporator core? Is this a seriously expensive job?

if it's leaking from the evaporator, that's going to be quite an expensive job b/c the entire dash has to be removed. My suggestion to you is to have a dye put in the system and then have a shop see if they can locate exactly where the leak is.
