Im puttin a 305 in my camaro from and 84 monte and some dude that helped me pull out the engine from the monte, told me that id need "block hugger" headers so the 305 would fit in my camaro. I dont know if thats true or not and if it is true, then how do i get the pipe that extends from the header all the way down to where the pipes meet the cat, since the hugger only come down about 10 inches ? Please help people. I wanna get this engine lookin good and there are a lot of things i dont know, and i dont wanna buy somethin i wont need. Thanks for all the help people.
all the best,
Marcus R.

contact any major muffler manufacturer for a factory replacement header package. I use Edelbrock T.E.S. headers. They are made specificly for my year camaro with a V8 and TPI. the headers have all the emissions fittings, fit in the engine bay, and include the piping to connect to the catalytic converter with a simple bolt in instalation. The only catch with the T.E.S. headers is you need a special socket to get the plugs off with an open ended box wrench. but other than that, they are excellent.
Buying one of these complete header setups is much smarter than just the headers, then custom fabricating the connection Y-pipe.
