Ok, here's the deal. Yesterday, I installed a k&n fipk air filter. After I put it in,I went to take it for a test run. I noticed that as soon as I started the car, my rpm's dropped vey low from the usual 800-1k to about maybe 100-200. It didn't stall out or anything. I made sure everything was tight and clamped up. My friends told me this is normal, and that the computer is just getting used to the added airflow from the stock pos.

Today, it ran fine, no rpm drops and it sounds great. But, after work and when I got to my house, I pulled into the driveway getting ready to park, and the rpm's started to drop again!

Is there something wrong, or is the computer still getting used to the airflow. If it's the airflow, approx when do you think it will be fine?

Thanks!

Well, from what ive read, the computer takes about 5-7 days to recalculate everything and adjust...but with an air filter, you shouldnt be getting that. Ive never had this problem

No time is required for airflow changes on MAS equiped cars. For MAP cars, the ECU doesnt recognize airflow changes easily unless pressure changes. So that is not the issue.

I'm assuming you have checked all the obvious things, like plug the MAS back in, etc? After 6 years with the 2g, I'm still not immune to overlooking the simple things. ;)
