I dont really know much about nitrouse oxide (at least thats what i assume you are talking about), but i do know it can add some quick hp. you have about 30 more hp stock then he does, and if you both have bolt ons a assume the gap in hp is still about the same. It really depends on the kit, what size did he get? I could be totally off base here, but that just makes sence to me

It depends on what amount of spray he runs. is it a 50shot or 75shot.....that's the difference. Anyways...his might be faster but your engine will last longer:)

he got a 55 shot of zex nitrous it runs for aslong as the gas is being pushed all the way down.

there are a ton a variables too consider, but i would think that IF you both were even drivers the ls would pull on you, but prob. not by much. but again, too many variables

According to Acura, the LS and GSR are only about 15hp difference, stock. it's the Type R that's got 30 (actually 38)HP on the LS. The nitrious is going to put him ahead, but at least you won't have to buy a new motor a year from now.

Is the LS affected by the mods as much as a GSR for example? do they respond by adding exactly the same amount of hp? are the mods exactly the same type/brand? these are a few of the variables that can think of for the modding.

whoa abrammicah, pretty sure the GSR has more than 157hp bro. LS has 142hp and GSR has like 180. That's a bit more than 15hp. I would think that GSR would repsond better to mods seeing as the base is already more powerful. The top end will deffinately benifit from mods seeing as it already kicks ass!

gsr has 170 but yea still not 15

alright...
The LS/GSR discussion has happened many times. this is simply throwing in one other variable. the GSR/LS race w/ only bolt-ons is a close race up to 3rd gear when the GSR should pull away a bit.
The b18c1 doesn't see much more power freed up by i/h/e than its b18b1 counter-part. w/ the 55 shot, it SHOULD be the LS beating the GSR, BUT there once again are too many variables to put into place to say a "sure" winner.
you want to know...go out and race.

Off hand I would say the LS would own you. I say this because the GSR may have more power but due to that power coming from vtec it really only comes in the higher rpm, vs a shot of nitris will imporve power throughout. Pretty much, the 30hp the gsr has over the ls isn't a true 30hp. Looking at quarter mile times there is not a huge gap between the GSR and the ls. So I would say with just a 30 shot of nitris you would get owned. However, he is using nitris which changes a lot of things as far as his car's computer is concerned. He needs his car tuned or possibly a new ecu. If he did none of this the nitris may actually hinder his performace because of all the variable nitris would affect. I say if he did not tune his car you may win. If he did, you don't stand an effin chance.

think i can help hear i had an ls with the zex kit and now have a gsr with the zex kit i think my ls engine with only the 55 shot was faster than my gsr without the NITROUS and all the same mods in the same car. now the the gsr with the nitrous is really fast and tell your friend i suggest he jet it up to the 75 shot its a lot more fun BUT BE CAREFULL and dont arm it at to low rpm (to high gear for the speed) i now have a gsr cause the ls went boom. but the mistake was mine, the zex kit is a good one even on stock engines just retard the timing and the zex computer does the rest. and if you start to get pissed that he is beating you, you can kick his ass with the same kit for <$550

To be fair though, If they are racing, vtec will pretty much always be in use. so that 30 extra hp will be there the whole time. Unless he is shifting WAY early.

YES if the drivers are about equal than the LS would own the GSR but dude i think your an idiot saying the gsr 30hp is not a "true" 30hp. 30hp is 30hp. And YES looking at 1/4 mile times they arent soo far apart but thats because LS has more low end power than a GSR so at times off the launch a GSR will have trouble keeping up with a LS through 1st and 2nd but due to the gear ratios on the LS it has no pull in 3rd so thats where the GSR pulls and then the 1/4 mile would be over right after the GSR pulls a little which explains why the 1/4 mile times are so close but if you look at it from not just a 1/4 mile than a GSR has more mid range and top end power then the LS and the VTEC will kick at higher RPM but in a racing situation the GSR is always at high RPM so that shouldnt be anything to argue about either. And I would think that he did tune his car after he got the nitrous because I think everyone knows that you just cant slap everything together in a car and expect it to be fast so I think he did tune his car. But now in this situation the LS definitely has an advantage but I wouldnt say that its GUARANTEED to win. The spec numbers on a car arent everything.

i'd say the LS will win. on a 55 shot, the LS is probably lay n down a good 180whp which is more than what u r push n. he'll get u from 1st and 2nd and u will pull a little in 3rd but not enough to catch up

well if you want to really hand his ass to him you could ge the ls trany to help out you bottom end. that what my friend did. he also has a type r ecu and a fully built motor. But in your case i would say you will be smoked just for the fact of that quick boost of power but that depends on how far you are racing. top speed you will catch up sooner or later
