hard to start

hi im new to this forum so plz someone help me, having a hard time starting my zj, replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor and fuel filter. its starts but takes a few tries. does anyone know what the problem is.???

Try turning the key on waiting about 15-30 seconds then try to start. If it starts better this way you may have a bad fuel pump. Also listen when you turn key on, can you hear the fuel pump relay click. Dale jeepman600@sbcglobal.net :2cents: :nono:

i have tried that and it is still tuff to start, i have hit the fuel tank and it helped a little do you think its the fuel pump?i hear the fuel pump relay click sometimes but not all the time... or is it something that is not as exspensive..?

P.S. I just had to warn readers never to try to start the car more than 6 seconds in one try. (9 sec at extrem max)

That will cause the starter to over heat and if the eletroid melted slitly ,the starter will need alot more juice or may even finnish the starter and the batterie.

Haynes repair manual even says to wait close to 10 min after a long start( 9 sec.) I hope i saves some money for u! later.
