Anyone like Fallout Boy?

Who here likes fallout boy? I just started listening to them a few weeks ago and i really like them alot. As well as others like... the acedemy is, motion city soundtrack, the postal service, all good bands as well.

i think the best thing to do is stop listening to fallout boy because unless ur a little girl ur gonna get ur ass kicked i suggest metallica or are ur ears to sensitive? my point is fallout boy is horrible and the best thing to do is eather keep it a secret that u liike them or listen to shadows fall or metallica u idiot

oh and they SUCK live. i saw them in April, and Silverstein opened for them...and yet Silverstein put on a WAY better show. (i like Silverstein better anyways)

dont bother with the new one. it has its moments, but its not even worth the DL time.

but i saw them live and they did a pretty damn good job. so they were either having an ungodly good night, or an ungodly bad night when you saw them.

the band just seems to be hit and miss in general. good, but not great.

My honest truth is that they suck. And 12 PM and after, its all MTV plays.. Oh..and there video is fucking dumb!

word. i think the saving grace for Fall Out Boy is that they haven't sold out yet, unlike the 2 bands that you mentioned. they don't get massive radio play, 12-year old girls don't listen to them and think they're hard, and Take This To Your Grave was actually a good album, unlike anything GC or SP has come out with.

pop and punk are 2 completely different things, almost opposite ends. pop is playing to the lowest common denominator, playing to the masses, being "popular" (hence the name). punk started as "we hate the establishment", it's mostly underground, and punk bands don't usually care how big an audience they have as long as their message gets out. therefore pop punk is an oxy-moron in itself.

the thing about fallout boy, as suislide touched on, is that they dont claim to be anything they are not.

i feel that the angst most people have with good charlotte and simple plan clones is that they claim to be "punk" when really they have nothing punk about them.

fallout boy is at least aware that they are a mediocre punk/hardcore/emo/pop blend.
