Alright I think you guys can help me. I have a 1997 pontiac grand prix gt and im trying to replace the rear speakers. I've tried getting to them from the trunk and from the inside of the car. I'm trying to remove the plastic cover from on top of the speakers but i dont know how to take it off. Does anyone know the real way to attack this issue? Thanks!

The key to the whole thing is removing the rear seat. Remove bottom seat cushion first. Run your hand along the separation of the carpet and bottom of the seat cover. You will find two pull straps. Pull on these and the bottom cushion will release. Then remove the seat back cushion.
Now you'll have access to the rear deck and speaker tray. You should be able to take it from here. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Good luck!

After i remove the back seat, there's 4 plastic pins holding the carpet on the back with the speaker covers sitting on top. Do i remove these black plastic pins

Very carefully. Try this old AF Grand Prix Forum message/thread link, it may help. Easier than if I re-type for you.
