passenger airbag

Is it possible to disable the passenger side airbag and curtains, without visiting the dealership? My child needs to be able to ride in the front w/ me for a long trip and is only five years old.

There is no switch that I know of on the car or disable method with a VAG scanner. I have seen a post where one guy put a resistor (basically an air bag simulator) in place of the front pass bag. This allows the rest of the system to function. I wouldn't worry about the curtain bags.

You can unplug the airbag..... and then the airbag light will come on.
WHy are you worried about having someone in the passenger seat? The airbags dont just "deploy" randomly..
