well i can say one thing... my cd player stopped working one day, and it would continuously try to spit out a cd when there was not one in there... when i would shut the car off, the cd player would try over and over again to spit out a nonexistent cd. Eventually the car's battery died, I threw a new battery in the car and started her up.. and for some strange reason the cd player is working fine again. So my advice would be disconnect and reconnect the battery to maybe reset it? I have no idea why it worked, but i thought id let ya know what worked for me!

My 2000 has the same problem, but it is worse. I recently put in an aftermarket dack and tested all the wires in the harness and found that my car was missing the remote turn on wire, all it had was a hot wire from the battery maybe you have the same problem as mine has.

When you say "remote turn on wire", do you mean ignition power wire (power to wire when key is turned on), if so you are not missing anything that is the way they are built now - check out this thread..

p.s. the stock radios are garbage and would highly suggest changing to an aftermarket system...
Cheers

Actually I dont think that the monsoon stock stereo is that bad (that was stock in mine), of course you can make it way better with an aftermarket stereo. I dont know about the non monsoons though.

Ya, I'd have to say that I'm very impressed with my stock Monsoon system (it's in an 03 GT)

Well I have never heard the Monsoon system, I ordered my car with the basic radio (saved me $$$) cause I already had my aftermarket stuff, and let me tell you listening to that for a week before I installed my stuff, pretty crappy...
