Carpet Removal Help

Trying to pull the carpet from 86 t-bird to put into 88 cougar. Looks as tho the center column (where the radio and ashtray drawer sit) is sitting right on it. Can I remove the carpet without having to remove this column, and if not, HOW THE WORLD do I remove the column?

yeah i think you do, just start takin things apart, like the whole center console, you'll get it eventually
