Transmission Solenoids

How hard will it be for me to change the solenoids in my transmission?
It is a 4t60e with the 3800 motor. I have a random shudder when light on the throttle. Between 45-55 mph. I really plan on getting this fix this summer. The car has had this problem for more than 2yrs, but I think its time to fix it. Over the past years it has NOT gotten any worse. But since I drive alot in the city, I would like to fix. Someone please tell me the best way to go about this. I am good with electronics, and experience with a DMM.

Sounds like it does it when the torque converter is locking in, but are you sure it is the solenoid? Does it do it when the car is hot and cold, etc.? Not sure if the transmission has to be pulled to get to the solenoid or not. I was told that the transmission does have to be pulled (in the 97) to access the valve body.

Yeah, it does it all the time, no matter the engine temperature, even when I leave on mornings after a cold start. If I give it mild to heavy throttle it switches gears flawlessly. Only when I am accelerating slowly or trying to keep my speed at 40mph it appears. It will also do this if I set the cruise control on 40MPH.

This is what make me thinks its just a solenoid. Cause if i floor it, its goes through all the gears quickly. Maybe 1 or 2 are dieing. The solenoids its self is not too expensive. Let me know if you have more advicee.

Anybody?

How do I remove the side pan of the transmission where the solenoids are housed?
