Long Tube headers

I have a 95 Mustang Gt convertable. I just recently installed the SLP Loudmouth 2 cat back exhaust. I would like to replace the headers with long tube headers and also get a new H-pipe. My problem is I have heard that in order to install long tube headers on the 95 you have to lift the engine about three inches to fit them in there. Anyone know if that is true, because if it is I really don't wish to do that and would it just be better to go with shorty's? And do they make after market h-pipes that also have the downpipes from the headers on them? Because I noticed my downpipes and h-pipes are welded together like they are on most stock vehicles.

Yes for LT install you need to unbolt the motor mount and lift it a lil not really a big deal.
Stock exhuast on Mustangs are not welded, and what do you mean by downpipes.... downpipes are really a Turbo exhuast system terminology.

Did that install on my 94 vert. Yes you do have to raise the motor on the passseger side. Along with disconnecting the steering linkage on the drivers side, remove the starter, strut tower brace and lower k support brace under the motor.
The oxygen sensors will need to be extended and the lower support brace under the motor, depending on the brand long tubes you go with. (mine were BBK) You may need to modify this brace in order to get it back on.
Sound like a lot well maybe but in the end the power gain was worth it. My advice however if you aren't planning to get to radical short tube headers may be the way to go.

Downpipes run from the headers to the h-pipe, that is what I was talking about

The X/H-pipe connects directly to the header/manifolds and runs to the muffler flo-tube/intermediate tubes. There is no downpipe on a Mustang.
A downpipe like i said is in reference turbo system it is the pipe that would run from the turbo to the h/x-pipe on a mustang.
