3 Tickets In 30 Mins!! Must Read! Help!!!

Hey guys,
check this out...

**I just got a new mazda millenia S about 2 weeks ago.
** I got pulled over for 4% tint and 20mph over.
Ok, thats all good i figure.

**20mins later i get pulled over for another 20mph over.

If i dont get rid of one of my 20mph over tickets then i get my license taken away for a good bit, because im not 18 yet. Damn.. 3months away.
Anyways, I just got the car and both of my tickets are exactly 20 over:
60 in a 40
and
65 in a 45

I need to get rid of one or possibly both. The tint ticket isn't an issue right now cuz its non moving and thats no points.
What can i do to win this case...
Spedometer malfunction??

Plead guilty and hope that the judge is having a good day...otherwise, it doesn't look too good...why would you continue speeding 20 minutes after getting a ticket? The judge would probably ask the same question...

So i thought of what i was going to say... (shortened)
"your honor, I had just bought the car with my dad less than 2 weeks ago as a project car. It had a lot wrong with it. After some work we had done to it the previous night, i took it out for a test run on the backroads (it was a backroad). Officer Crap pulled me over for doing 20 over and window tint. The tint had came with the car and i was totally unaware of the law. Then about 20 mins later, i was pulled over again for 20 over. I know for sure my speedometer read a little over 45. Between 45 and 50 to be exact. My dad took a look at the car and said that the speedometer was wrong so i took it in to XXXXXX shop and they said it was wrong also. They then re-calibrated my speedometer to correct the problem. Here is the paperwork from the re-calibration and here are some of the papers that i had found in the glove box that says the tach and other gauges were also messed up.
I have had a clean record and i will be 18 in less than 4 months. I do not want to loose my license because of a bad luck car right before i turn 18."
Thats a legit story. There were papers in the glove box that said the tach was not working properly.
So what do you guys think?

If you have papers from the shop saying that the speedo was in fact f-ed up, and that it was recalibrated, then you may have a case on the speeding tickets.

yeah u gotta have some proof that the spedo was off......if u dont have the proof, then i hope u have a reasonable judge or one in a good mood, like he's gonna get laid tonite for the first time in 30 years...

it's a reasonable excuse but not an entirely valid one. so er, you didn't notice that most other cars were much slower than you? after the first one, you didn't figure to slow down?
(incidentally, how do you 'look' at a car and know that the speedo calibration is off?)

do you have a bigger wheel size than stock because if you do that may set off your speedo by like 5mph i know my buddies speedo is offset by 5-7mph because of his wheels. so u might be able to get it down to like 15mph over but the second speeding ticket well thats just pure bad luck and as for the tint im pretty sure 4% is illegal at least it is where i live so good luck with those

Yea, well, still working on the paperwork... The law here in GA is if you accumulate 4 points untill your 21. The two speeding tickets i got is 3 points each... And i had a following too close ticket back in the day like a month after i got my license for a dumb fenderbender... Im not sure if that counts or not. I think they're null after 12 months.
THIS JUST IN. i got another ticket for my tint today. So thats a total of 4 tickets. 2 for 20mph over and 2 for tint.
I dont care about the tint, im trying to keep my license.
I e-mailed some traffic lawyers so we'll see how this plays out...

Anyways, i talked to a cop and he said that the "points" dont accumulate. In GA, under 21 has 4 points. My tickets are 3 pts each. So i guess im clear since they dont accumulate.. he was kind of shady when i asked if hes sure about that... But i guess its right cuz thers no way you can go 16-21 (5years) without getting 2 tickets...

FYI some states the tint tickets ARE moving violations. I know the trooper i talked to in MN told me about that.

i know im the dumbest person in the world but i was picking up some papers from city hall today and there was no parking spots anywhere. I figured i can park the one of 2 handicap spots and be back in a flash. Well, i did, i saw a cop in ther and started telling him about my 4 tickets and another damn cop walks in and asks "whos white car is this in the handicap spot?"
I claimed it and sure as heaven and hell, he wrote me my 5th ticket without any hesitation. So now i have 2 speeding, 2 tint, and a parking violation.
