the time is getting closer and closer i've gotta be buying a car soon for racing, and the 1st gens are really looking good, but how fast can they be? i want to be able to drift it mainly but also do other things like try drag racing, is there a big aftermarket for them becuase i just have not seen one?

1st gens are great for drag since they have a solid rear axle. you may want to convert the steering over to rack and pinon though, if you intend to do things like drift or autocross or track days. you may want to do some chassis stiffening also
if you want alot of power yuo can swap to a 13b turbo or even a v8 if thats your style.

v8 isn't really what i plan, and from info i've gathered the 13b turbo seems like that its really unreliable and has a lot of problems, so your telling me there is nothing possible with the stock motor? i would really luv to make a fast 1st gen with that original engine.

i've seen the 13b turbo do 200,000 miles on the original motor. I all depends on how you treat it.
You need to do research on the car before you think about buying it. About the stock motor, there were 2 different engines you could get in te US (12A only until 84 and then they had a 13B option), Each has its own potential, but you will see that alot of people use the 13b because its close to the other 13bs in later rx7s.

bro there is absolutly nothing wrong with that 12a specially since you might run into problems with whatever class you plan on racing your car in. For awesome suspension and performance upgrades for you first gen go to www.racingbeat.com or www.atkinsrotary.com might have some cool shit like superchargers and other nice bolt on stuff
