hello. i have a 91 dodge caravan that has been giving me some goofy sounds lately. in the past couple weeks it seems to be getting constantly worse. every time i turn a corner with the thing after it warms up, i get a squeaky-squeally sound coming from under the hood. after a few minutes of being warmed up, then the sound becomes constant even while going down a straight road or sitting in idle. everybody tells me that it is probably just a belt, and i have no idea as my car knowledge is relatively limited. i did have the tension belt(i think that is what it is???) fixed on it a couple weeks ago. never made the sounds before the belt was replaced. the vehicle itself is a 91 grand caravan with the standard v6 in it with about 125 k worth of miles on it. anybody have any ideas? please and thank you!! :)

I would go back to the shop where they changed your belt and double check make sure they used the correct belt and any other parts what they replaced.

that sounds like a loose belt to me. have the guy who installed it check the belt tension and make sure it is within manufacturer's specs

Sounds like the serpatine belt is slipping of the power steering pump.

If you're not already 100% sure it's not the brake wear indicators, I'd check to see if that might be the source of the noise.

I agree with VAMC it should be your Serpentine Belt. If this is the 3.0l engine with the belt tensioner starts to go the belt has a tendency to jump one grove over on the power steering pully. Replace the tensioner and your problem should be solved. This is an easy job as it only has 1 bolt.
