Hi guys, just want to share with you my Mitsubishi Montero. I dugged it out from my neighbourhood store. I think it has been there for a long time maybe? But anyway here are the pics. More to follow

Just smoothen it out with a grid 2000. Awaiting further smoothening with compound.

Frankly, at a scale of 1/24, I think it's very rare that you get a chance to build the Engine. I'd never came across this so far in all my Tamiya models, but I loved it! In addition, the suspension uses actual workable springs on this kit! That means, after putting in the wheels, you can actually feel the springy suspension too!

Hmm I got it at a toy store in Serangoon Central. Unfortunately, it just winded up. Selling shampoo now haha.

I was planning to paint it Gloss Black top with Gold bottom. What do u guys think?

It's more like a toy shop which stocks a few tamiya kits. Saw some tanks and bikes too, but very few. Everbliss Gifts (Serangoon Central) you know?

Not much progress so far, only sprayed the Bottom Part with Gold Leaf. I made two mistakes here -
First, I started masking less than 24 hours of the body drying from a fresh coat of paint, and after all the usual spraying and everything, I was horrified by the condition of the black paint in the top part. Unfortunately, abrasive paper helped, but not much...

Second, as you can see at the part where the doors are, I "under-masked", and sprayed more than was required. The gold painting should had been on equal level as the part near the butt of the body.

Here are the pics:

Now I'm deciding whether to strip the paint completely and start all over again, or just try to repair. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about the paint job. I would strip it....

Well, stripping may be the easiest way out I guess. But I thought of all the Paint and Abrasive Paper wasted... Sigh...
