i was going to take all those four main things down to tweeter here in san diego and have a custom install. do you think i could just ask them about all that stuff that you mentioned and they will hook me up with that stuff? how much do you think the custom install will cost? i was going to take out the back seat of my coupe civic myself and have the subs facing inside the car throught the back where the big hole is into the trunk. then i was going to have the amp mounted in a box with plexiglass where the seats used to be. do you think i should also get a new speaker system. will i need another amp to power the speakers?thanks for all the help.i reallly really appreciate it.:frog:

Alright man heres how it should be ;) ; Have them just hook u up with the harness and have them run the rca's and power cords. Then set the custom install up your self. Take the factory speakers out (Cause they suck) and put in some good ones (i love the sony xplods they sound nice). If you want to hear alot of bass and not alot of music dont run the high and mids off an amp. But i like to hear music with my bass so i run the subs (lows) and the high and mids (the ones u replaced) off an amp cuase it sounds better. IF you have any more question just let me know and drop a line p'z.

Man get away from Best Buy / CC and goto a real friggen shop and listen to some REAL friggen speakers. You want speakers, take a look at the Phoenix Gold QX series -- affordable and yet amazing quality, I can put you in touch with someone who runs them that will vouche for them -- and I have them going into my ride as well, and I sell audio and could put anything I want in there... and I choose these -- makes you wonder eh?
As for all the other stuff I mentioned, you wont need to worry about it if you are having someone else install it -- they will take care of it for you. But custom install like you are talking about? Anywhere from $500-$1000 depending on who you know I guess.

yeah i plan on going all out with a whole multimedia system in my car with a ps2. now can i just hook up al the audio work first then put the video in later. cuz i obviuosly cant afford it all right now. monitor i plan on https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/caraudio/product.asp?sku=12187
or should i put it in all at once.it says it gives sub and amp input and oututs. what does that mean. does it mean i can hook up the amp and sub connections to the monitor and have the touch screen control over my enitre system like it says in the description.

Its better to put it all in at once, and to be honest dont bother asking those types of questions on here. Go down to the place thats installing it -- and ask them, because if they dont know the answers do you really want them installing your stuff??? :licker:

heres what you need to do since you dont know much about car audio get in your car and roll down to circuit city, pick out the parts that you want and have them install them for you. i think they charge 50 to install the head unit, speakers are somewhere between 25-50 a pair. then have them put in the amp and sub dont know the prices, makesure that they run extra wire to the sub tho so that way you can put it behind your seat or where ever you want latter. if sound isnt that big of a deal to you then you should be able to get it all bought and installed for close to 1 g.

I have a Kenwood 9017 deck, 4 Polk DX speakers, and 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" subs with a huge Audiobahn Saphire amp. For my hatchback I just chose all the brands I've had good experience with in the past, and I think Polk speakers are very good quality to take the place of the stock ones. The Kappa Perfects are extremely powerful 1400w subs and sound great too. Good luck gettin everything hooked up!
