I have just recently changed the stock stereo in my 1993 buick park avenue to a cd player. I first had my friend do all the wiring and everything had worked after he installed the cd player except the lights on the instrument panel. So i went and got the conenctor that goes from the 1993 buick harness to any cd player and put the ends back on the wires in my buick that my friend had spliced in the first place and connected everything as it should be and my instrument panel lights still dont work. I have replaced the fuses and checked all the other ones and they are all fine, please help i have no idea what is wrong.

Hate to see a post go open with no replies. Now I'm not the best electircal guy around but can hold my own.
You're problem is a simple open circuit, most likely on the grounded side. What you could do is pull the bulb from the ash tray light which should be just about the end of the line of the circuit, and with the switch on see if you have 12v to it, voltmeter or testlight will suffice. Rule in a open is there will be power up to the point of break. So if you have power there, trace the ground wire to it's end you'll probably find the answer, which the ground I believe is under the radio mount and ash tray? Is on mine anyway.
