I'm hoping somebody can help me with this..

My car has recently been making a humming noise. It starts as soon as I hit 30 mph. It seems like I can feel it a little under the gas and brake pedals..When I make left turns, the noise gets extremely loud. My mechanic replaced the wheel bearings but the noise is still there. He now claims its my transmission and says it will cost 2K to fix it!!. I find it hard to believe because my car doesn't even have 50K miles on it!

Another strange thing is that my car tends to pull to the right and I have to stir to the left in order to drive straight. That's when the noise gets really annoying. I had my wheels aligned, and its still doing that. The dealership claims that I need a new right tire, but it looks fine to me. Could these problems be related????

If its pulling then its suspension related or perhaps something in the axles? I'd suspect something in the CV Joints. Get the axles replaced. If it's still there, get the struts replaced and get a new allignment. If it's still there...you're fucked.

i have exactly the same problem with my 2001 ...i was told it was the hub and apperently a hub for a 2001 cavalier costs 450 canadian from the dealer cuz theres a speed sensor attached ...but what im really thinking is that its suspension related and its a form of excessive tire wear. im just waiting until i get my new suspension if its still there after im prolly thinking its the hub afterall lol

did you check your rear wheels bearing ? Have them diagnosed, you could spare yourself some headache :D
