XXX Wiring Question

Sometime this week I plan on ordering two XXX12's. I will either be running them of this Autotek amp:

or this Orion 2500d amp:

http://www.orioncaraudio.com/amps/Dmono.asp

My question is what voice coil configuration should I get when I order them? I believe the choices are dual 2, dual 1, or quad 2. I wanna run it to the point where the subs are almost fully powered to their potential but I don't want to blow the amp(as I have always been skeptical about running anything at 1 ohm).

Depends on what amp your going to use, pick one.

which do you recommend? Or are there any others...I'm lookin to spend less than $600...I can get the Orion for $600 and already have the Autotek...what else should I consider? Keep in mind that if I get a new amp it won't be for at least a month, so I'll have to temporarily run it off of the Autotek, which brings up the voice coil and wiring issue again.

You can use the autotek, you just gotta tone it down a bunch. Those subs only need 250watts really. (2) Atlas 12's can be wired in a 8ohm load, wich will work good for your amp.

WTF are u smokin Manny he said xxx 12's not fuckin atlas 12's..... lol ..... keep the autotek (badass amp) get stock xxx's (dual2) wire in series parallel and your good to go.... for the box build it 4-4.5 cubes net to the desired tuning freq.

Yea I have around 6 cubes total...I was thinkin about tuning it to 32hz would that be straight? Also, if I keep my amp and wire it how you said, what ohm load would it be running at and how much rms would each sub be getting?

3000 1500 per sub @ 2 ohms...... and the amps prolly underrated..... 32 hz is perfect..... hit me up if u need box designs.

Yup, the two subs will present the amp a 2ohm load. Therefore "3000watts" to the pair. Either Mike or Myself can design you custom enclosures, with everything you need including a cutsheet. peace

I called today for pricing and the XXX is $405 shipped to Chicago which is cheaper than I thought it would be, so I'm going to order it sometime this weekend. So...I should order dual 2's right guys? I'm just askin again because the specs for the Autotek amp confuse me...I want to be absolutely sure before I order the subs that the amp puts out enough power...at 2 ohms is it 1200rms or 1500rms?

You guys can also hit me up on AIM at Jiggaman28 and let me know how the whole box plans thing goes. How many people here actually do it, and who does it the best??? How about you Sr20??
