I have a 2001 lincoln ls... and the computer or whatever it is has been saying I need to change my ac filter, so yesterday when I had my oil changed I asked if they could please change the ac filter as well... the mechanic said I did not need an ac filter, I need a cabin air filter and he did not know how to replace this or where they sold it... question is do I need to purchase this part from the dealer? and where is this cabin air filter in the car? and is it difficult to replace?
thanks

This is described in detail on pages 217-220 in the owner's manual.
Filters are available everywhere. Expect to pay $20-$30 for one.
