Has anyone received notification of GM RECALL NO. 05027 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 05V155000) for "FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP"?

Make : GMC Model : YUKON XL Year : 2000

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/results.cfm

Preliminary letters are supposed to mail today, but I'm wondering if anyone has done a recall research on their vehicle and is included in this recall. As of now, I am not (even though I have the symptoms) and I'm wondering if GM has the recall database populated with affected vehicles.

Thanks,
P

recall notices are sent out to the last registered owner, you can call or stop buy your local dealer service dept. with your vin. number and they can tell you if your truck is one of the ones affected.

Yeah, I understand what I can do to find out. I was just wondering if anyone had received a recall notification (via whatever method) for this particular recall.

As stated, we are currently not being shown as being affected by this recall (called GM, looked on site, called dealership), but we have the symptoms.

I want to know if the notifications are out to those affected so I know how upset I should get by not being included.

if you are having problems bitch to your dealer if not there is really nothing you can do if you are not included in the recall.

For what it's worth, I received the recall letter a couple of days ago...

Me too. Got it yesterday. Said they would notify me when the permanent repair kit was ready but if you experience gas odors to bring in ASAP for a quick fix.

I did get the letter. The way I read it was that if you were experiencing ANY of the 3 symptoms listed, bring it in ASAP for the quick fix.

BEWARE!!! From my service dept. AND GM 'Customer Service':
"If you are experiencing symptoms then MOST LIKELY it is the cause listed in the recall. HOWEVER, if the cause is to be determined something other than what is listed in the recall, you (the customer) will be back-charged for ALL LABOR and COSTS involved."

I am doing EXACTLY what GM is telling me to do for a SAFETY recall and they are telling me, just be prepared to shell out $200-$300 worth of labor. That's like asking someone to gamble with their safety. "Have someone ready to pay up, or don't get the work done and live with the ramifications."

GM can offer 'employee pricing' all they want. They won't get any business from me!

Sorry all...I'm on fire right now.
