Starter switch

I just purchased a new starter switch, but when I went to put it on, I discovered the car has a whole series of cables connecting to the starter post. The guy at the parts store said these are accessories. I unfortunately made the dumb mistake of not labeling the wires before I took off the old switch. Can anyone tell me what the proper order of the wires is? Or show me a diagram that would explain it? The switch came with instructions, but they only show three cables--the positive battery cable, the starter cable, and the ignition switch.
The arrangement of cables was in a sort of fan shape, five or six of them all overlapping each other, with one having a rectangular metal box attached. Any help would be appreciated.
