is it true you cannot boost a qr25de?

i was reading into mods for my 2005 ser spec v and i ran across a post that says the qr25 doesnt handle boost well. i was wondering if that applied only to the 2002 version or whether i would have problems with my 2005. i know the stroke of the engine requires new rods, but can you find rods that will handle say, 18psi of boost without shattering? and what will a turbo do to the life of a qr25? i thought i did a lot of homework about this car before buying it and now im getting a little nervous. any help would be appreciated
edit-4.10.07- QR25DE handles 8-10psi on stock internals semi-reliably given that the intake butterfly valves are removed to lessen low end torque, destroked versions have produced up to 550whp with custom parts

qr25 handles mild boost okay. there's been at least one reported case of a stock-boosted motor putting uneven wear on the wrist pins after 20 thousand miles.
there's a couple of ways to go about getting beefier internals. definitly look into a block guard if you're going to tear your motor apart to put in stronger rods/pistons.

there's no reason you can't do 8 pounds safely on stock motor....as long as you have good cooling, and you get a good system with fuel upgrades.......if you're looking for internals....importperformanceparts.net has everything you'll be looking for.....
