600 watts rms isnt going to really shake the floor as you drive by...

i saw (2) 12" cerwin vega vega series in a ported box powered by a JBL 1200.1 amp. the sub only cost around $130 each.

Kicker -- yeah basically I was going to say real "ground shaking" comes in USUALLY about 100 watts, or 4 subs -- or both :) But if you are looking for maximum "boom" go with a 15" woofer...

or maybe (1) cerwin vega stroker series? :D

if you want, 2 Kicker CompVR. oh wait...they wouldn't take the JBL 1200.1 power....:( hrm....a Crystal 15" CMPx2 maybe? 800watts RMS PER COIL!!!!! run the JBL and each coil should be getting ~700 watts. thats still enough to shake the ground! plus you'll get crystal sound quality:D

"Shake the ground" with 300 watts per woofer? You want to shake the ground -- go buy yourself a pair of the new AW1200q series woofers from Audiobahn, and an Audiobahn A1300HCq amplifier...

I installed a SINGLE one of these woofers, and some crap 1400 watt amp (700 rms to the woofer) and we shook a ladder off the wall -- add another woofer, and another 500 watts total and your talking serious boom!

hey sparq how about 2 alum12x's with a 1200.1 or even 2 alum15x's with a 1200.1. think this will shake the ground.
here is a list of subs that i was thinking about. tell me wich ones you think will be able to do waht i want it to do.
2 12w3's w/600.1
2 15w6's w/600.1
2 15" alpine type r's w/1200.1
2 12" alpine type r's w/600.1
2 12" solo barics (round one) W/600.1
2 IDMAX's w/1200.1
2 alum12q's w/600.1
2 alum15q's w/1200.1
2 aw1200q's or aw1500q w/1200.1

Im tellin yah, if you want "ground shaking" bass -- you need at least 1000 watts in my opinion. So that immediately drops the 600.1 as an option, a pair of 15's moves nearly 3-4 times more air (louder) then a pair of twelves... so the logical solution here would be the ALUM15x w/ the 1200.1 now wouldnt it?

true dat.... you need like 1000+ watts to a sub to do some serious cooking... i don't like to blast my shit to prevent theives and also ... it sounds dumb when peoples car rattle from too much bass.... also i rather have a balance audio sound from my music... not all bass

just get a kicker solobaric 15L7. they can take the 1200.1 power and has more cone area than conventional 15's. plus, you can find them pretty cheap. too bad the DD 9515's are 500 bucks:(

just make sure you get the right subs...
dvc 4 ohms will wire to 1 ohm, but i think the jbl 1200.1 should handle that ok... just don't play that too had or the amp will overheat. (its stable at 2 ohm)

the alum15x's are dvc 6ohm. so when i paralell them i will get a 1.5 ohm load.
