My hillbilly neighbor caught 2 wild pigs not too long ago. He has them pinned in his front yard. Well the first few days were ok. Then they started keeping me up all night, squilling and shit. Now the femail has gon into heat. She is attracting some huge males to the neighborhood. These things are dangerous. They have these huge tusks and are verry agressive. Well the other morning, I was walking my daughter to the car so I could take her to school. I here something, I look in that direction and there is this huge male hog in the yard. It scared the hell out of me. That thing was snorting and shit. I get my girl in the car asap, and take her to school. That night there was like 4 of them things fighting right under my bedroom window. Yesterday when I was taking my girl to school another one ran out in front of me like 200 ft from my home. I told my neighbor and he dosent care. I was wanderin is it illegal to keep a wild animal??? Is there anything I might be able to do about this. I have 2 ypoung kids that love to play outside, and there are 3 other young boys in the neighbor hood also. These pigs attack cars and anything that moves. It is not something I want around my kids... Sorry I just had to bitch to someone....

Couldn't hurt to call the cops and find out. If that doesn't work just kill the damn things.

The steps that I would take:

1) What kind of neighborhood do you live in? What kind of houses? I'd be willing to bet the HOA (Homeowner's Association) wouldn't condone wild boars locked in somebody's front yard. It could be against some meighborhood ordinances as well. Look into it and maybe give the HOA a call.

2) Call Animal Control and tell them about the situation. And call them EVERY TIME you see a loose one. The more you drag them out there, the more incintive it is to get them to pass the problem along. If they keep having to come out and catch big, dangerous, wild pigs and risk their lives, I'd be willing to bet they'll be pretty quick to get the city to do something about it.

3) I would call the police. That's their jobs to come out and deal with it. And I would keep calling. Call the police and say this is ridiculous and unsanitary and just dangerous. This is what the police is good for and why you're paying their salaries. Get a little of your money's worth.

And I'm not kidding. I would be quick to buy a 9 millimeter and even quicker to pull the trigger at a boar on my property. And keep shooting them when they come onto your property. You can't shoot them off of your property (in fact you can't really shoot them ON your property, but they ARE putting you and your children in danger. So blast away. Just be careful.

my neighbor hood concist of 5 houses. Me, hillbilly, the family on the other side and a few old people. We live in the middle of no where. We have government woods all around us.

The nearist animal control is in Dallas area, I live 2 and a half hours from there. They dont come out here..

The police says they cand do a thing till someone gets hurt.. Kinda sucks

as far as the gun issue, I would get one, That is a good idea, the only thing is that I dont know the first thing about them things..Where do I get one, how do I get it registerd, ect......Do I need a lisence to own one

Wherever you go to buy a gun, can give you all the information you need: How to register it, tips on usage, where to go to target practice, where to go for better training and usage. Don't be afraid to ask.

Being surrounded by government woods, I'm surprised you don't already have one.

Get a rifle. Easier to shoot, more accurate, although not easy to conceal, but who cares.

If you are going to be shooting those Boars, you need to get a high powered rifle or a large bore handgun. They have a kinda of bullet proof vest on if you will. A full grown male will have a 3" thick chunk of gristle on their chest. You either have to shoot it in the side behind the front leg or in the chest with a gun with a lot of ass behind it. Good luck.

Oh I forgot to mention, if you shoot it and it dosen't die at once. RUN LIKE HELL. It will attack you.

Have a couple of people with you with guns, and if it doesnt die the first shot, keep shooting. You wont get in trouble for this if they are causing obvious danger

How about a fence? have you tried talking to hillbily ( ), and ask them to keep their hogs contained.

TS out (having a blt for lunch)

ok, the 2 hogs he has are pined off. The rest are wild out of the woods. Enjoy your blt

Jet-Lee

shoot 'em. Make sure your posted up somewhere they can get you and just target practice with them.

sivic02
05-24-2005, 05:32 PM
If at all possible, go open the fence when your neighbor is gone and let them out. The hogs would much rather hang out in the woods than in your yard given the choice.

Also about the gun thing, you strike me as more of an automatic assault rifle type person.

If you're planning to shoot them, shoot from an upstairs window in your house so they can't get to you. Make sure to use hearing protection or you'll kill your ears.

The store you buy your gun(s) from may offer a firearms safety and handling course, and have a range where you can practice some before the actual hunt begins.

30-06, semi automatic, full metal jacket first round, for penetration, second round is semi-jacketed, third is soft-lead open Nosler, repeat the load. Use 220 grain bullets, nothing lighter, learn to fire three shotsw fast in the same target area.

Bye Bye nasty pig.

I am gonna kill the fuckers and mabye hillbilly if he gets in my way. I am shure I could get away with it. He is legaley insane. how about a high voltage electric fence...hehe it'll roast the porkers and then invite ur neighbor over to touch ur fence oopsies :naughty: lol yeah definetely get a gun or find someone that loves to hunt and is a good shot and just have them take all the pigs out. have u tried contacting the animal control place? tell them they've been trying to attack u and ur children and how dangerosu it is. there probably isn't a law against keeping the animals tied up since ur outside of city limits*no f'ing clue why he'd want to keep them, what's the point?* you could also try setting traps for the pigs, it's easier to shoot a still target, even tho it seems kinda barbaric to me

Yes shooting is addictive, to me atleast. Use nothing smaller than a .308/30-06. You do NOT want to fuck aruond with a wild boar, let alone a wounded one. And they will be the worst tasting meat you have ever eaten probably, so don't bother butchering it. On the roof of the house isn't excatly a bad idea either, don't be sneaky and hide in a tree....they will get you, if it is a small tree, they can knock it over. Not a good time.

Wild pig is good if cooked right. Not many people can do it right. My other neighbor took care of the pig for me. That damn thing came after my wolf dog. He loves my dog so he took care of the pig at 4 in the morning saturday....He is also gonna take care of the pigs hillbilly has pined up. We are just waiting for him to leave his house.

What happened to the huge numbers of wild boars that I imagined running around your front/back yards?
Seems like they aren't smart enough to go away if one was "taken care of"

AK-47 are legal now, you can get them for household use, at least where I live. I think it is a good investment, good aim, durable, and if someone tries to rob you they will actually pay you to take the barrel out of their face.
What about some poisoning? The pigs will die, if retard tries to eat them he will die too.
