shakin' when brakin'

I have the same brake problem others are complaining about. Mine is very violent when braking, more violent the harder the braking and the faster the speed. torqued the lugnuts and lubed the caliper and moving brake parts. Now my question is where and how much will it cost to get the rotors machined and where do i get this done? Is it better to just buy a new rotor? And, what is the best method of isolating the where the bad rotor is? Help is apprecaited!

As far as I know, places such as Pepboys still turn rotors. Though more or less all shops will do it for you. One thing, however, is don't just have one rotor turned. Brakes need to be done in sets, otherwise you're asking for loads of trouble. I doubt its the rears, if you have rear discs, so just take the front ones in. Cost is going to vary between shops, and I can't remember what we charged the customer to do them. It paid an hour and some change, but that's dealership pricing. Ask around, its extremely easy and quick to turn the rotors, so it shouldn't be astronomical in price.

Most of the newer ones don't have enough meat on them to be really stout after turning. New ones are pretty cheap (front anyway). I think I paid $18 a piece for them.

$12 each to turn them? No brainer.
