Okay as you all can tell I have a 97 SL and a 97Base and I'm tryin to do the twin turbo swap. Everybody is telline me to just swap the SL instead of the Base. Well my problem is the the SL has like 56,000 miles or sumtin and the Base has 122,000 sumtin. The SL seems to much of a good car to just try and hook it up, the car is too good. But on the other hand my base GT is good too but it has problems. Now what should I do: Buy a twin turbo engine for my Base(if it's ok to swap the block and the ECU etc), or Buy a parts from a VR-4 and install it in my SL? I don't know if it's done yet but can't I just buy a VR-4 engine for my Base? The SL has never been touched so I wanna keep it that way.
So what the hell do I do?

Well, the lower mileage one would handle boost alot better. If you check out:
http://www.3si.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=53
It is a whole forum devoted to TT conversions. Many don't swap the entire engine, they just do a TT conversion and ECU swap. The difference being the vr4 block has 8:1 compression, the SL has 10:1...so you have to run a bit less boost...
This has been done many times, so I suggest you do some reading from that link I provided. Also there is a little bit regarding the TT conversion in the FAQ.

Yeah I kinda did research there Thanx to Hotshot. But the reason is I don't want to waste my SL because the car is perfect I want to keep it stock.I just don't want to mess with my beautiful SL. But the Base is fine. Ok how about if I conversion my base into DOHC and then do then TT ECU etc conversion swap. Will that work?

Well there have been a few that have TT'd or supercharged the SOHC engine, if you check out that link I sent you, you can find them and they did write-ups. However, the fact of the matter is a block with 56k is probably gonna be in better shape and better able to handle boost than a block with 122k. It is your decision, but I would simply suggest the SL.

No, Igovert I want to know If I can conversion my SOHC into DOHC then do the TT swap. I talk to some machanics here and they say I can't change my SOHC into DOHC but I think it's possible. All I need are the long Block from a dohc and the ECU and etc, right? I'm thinking of just conversioning my SOHC into DOHC first then do the twin turbo, because I'm buying a new motor anywayz for the Base but I don't know which motor to buy: the NEW SOHC or a NEW DOHC? But yes I am planning to get a new motor my this month.

the sohc to dohc swap has been done numerous times. You've got the basic idea on it, not sure on all the different parts you will need, but it'll be up on 3SI as well.

just buy the dohc engine with the turbos already on it..maybe new motor mounts too...

:confused:What do you mean? Buy the VR4 motor or buy a SL motor and put the VR4 turbos on it.

Buy a VR-4 (GTO) front clip and gut that thing of all you need.
Including the gauge cluster so you can lower your miles, instantly. :grinyes:

Yeah dude i'd just buy the VR4 engine and swap it in, it'd be easier that way.
