No Ac!!!!

I hit the A/C switch, light comes on, but no clutch engagement. I jumped the compressor with the battery and it works fine. I think that it could be the relay but how can I tell if the relay is bad??

i would jump the pressure swithc. Its usually on the top of the dryer. If you jump it the fans will run and the compressor will engage. If the air isn't cold then its a good bet that there is no freon in the system.
