'98 stalls in a hard turn

question: is there a sensor in the power steering pump that adjusts the fuel flow when a load is put on the pump? My cousin's durango is stalling when she turns 90 degree corners. We're talking stop and turn here,not hard cornering.
any help is greatly appreciated.
