after relealizing how stupid my last plan was ive decided on either a single 18 or a dual 12 setup. i know very little about high subwoofers. ive hear alot of good stuff about RE and Adire and AA. im looking for a good daily driver but i also want to be able to crank it up and show off. i want to ideally be able to be both of these systems: 4X pioneer 800W sealed. and 2 audiobahn 1200W bandpass. from what i hear anything from any of the afore mentioned companies should be able to destroy these w setups. i want SQL, but if i have to deviate to eaither spl or sq ill go towards spl, ive got mids and tweets to sound good.

thanks in advance for all your help!

the last one is a huge waste of money, just go with a single 15 or 18

i figured the last one was a huge waste of money, would look pretty cool though.

any ideas on the budget system?

and which would yall recommend: 2 12"s or 1 18" ive got a huge trunk so hte enclosure size inst a problem. i want the best sql possible.

do you need the SQ? cause IMO youd be wasting a lot of cash if you are lookign for mostly SPL. there are cheaper subs that get louder.

1 18> 2 12's both efficent wise and displacement... ie it will get louder with 1/2 the power...

Yes, but its hard to get 7-8 cubes net in a car and still have a proper setup where the bass isn't all muffled out by bad positioning soooo.....

2 12's properly setup> 1 18 in a poor install.

i do have the room for a 7-8 cube enclosure.

what am would you recommend for a dual XXX12 or a single XXX18, and what box type and size. the recommened is 2.3cuft for each 12 and 4.2 for each 18.

and i dont NEED the sq, but i would like it. this will be my daily driver, but i want something that i can show off with. so if youve got suggestions please tell me, im still fairly new to this stuff. obviously a cheaper solution would be better, but i want some high quality stuff, not of that audiobahn shit or anything like that [yes i admit there crap, my right 6x9 separated, the VC i think. ill have pictures on here when i can get them uploaded from my phone.]

andi didnt know what to call it so i called it substage.

well if you aren't overly concerned w/ SQ go with SX's....... and 7-8 cubes is NET the gross volume will be near 10 cubes.

do you have to have RE? they areont the only company that can provide budget SQL

edit:
a guy over on SIN hit 143dB with 8 RE 8's in an enclosure tuned to 50Hz, 40Hz and 30Hz (port plugs) and 8 RE 8's should be around the price of an SX 18, or at least they are to where i live. and the thing is he only had 150w TOTAL to all 8 drivers so 19w per driver. very impresive.

It sounds like you want SPL more so then SQ, but still want some SQ correct? If so go with DPs, Li's, or Sx's..... you also might wanna check out the new stereo integrity magnum, but I'm not sure when the release date is.

yes im looking for spl with some sq, im figuring most of my sq wil lbe covered by my mids and tweets, so i jsut want something loud.

im Thinking a SX 18. this may change if the new magnum or that tumult come sout soon.

But which would give me more displacement and spl, 2 12s or a single 18, assuming there the same model.

Are there any particular amp companys i should be looking @? right now im looking @ hifonics.

what box will give me better output w/ recorded music, maingly rap and techno and rock. sealed/port[@ what hz?]/bandpass?

thanks for all the help!

single 18 of same model would have more cone area. however, it prolly wouldnt take as much power as two 12s of the sam emodel, and it would need a bigger box than 2 12s generally.

what kinda money do you have just for amps? hifonics are good if youre on a tight budget, but theres always better.

better output will be in a ported box. for some decent extension youll want to port somewhere in the high 20s to mid 30s depending on woofers, sound desired and box size.

Andon is right on the money.... If you got the room an SX 18 will slam really hard. If not 2 12's or a 15 will work fine. Look into DP's too a single DP 15 is loud enough well too loud for most people for a daily driver. What kinda vehicle is it anyways?

GOD! I single DP 15 ported, and 1000rms is all you need. It's UNGODLY...for REAL. I've done two installs with them...and I own my own...it is LOUD! FUCKING LOUD!!!

The Car is a 1987 Oldsmobile Regency. and the trunk is HUGE. i can fit inside it and still have plenty of room to move around [im 5' 11" 209lbs, not a small person]. i havent measured it but its pretty big. http://image38.webshots.com/38/0/27/10/329102710FdhEIf_ph.jpg it extends a little more to the sides in the front, that amp is 10.9"(W) x 2.67"(H) x 12"(L). ill meausre it this weekend and post the size. im can give up most of the room, i can always stick shit in my backseat.
im hoping to keep it under a grand, but i will have as much as 2K to spend. the more expensive the longer ill have to wait.

My ideal setup would be something that can be turned down and sound crisp and clean for daily driving, yet can be cranked up to SPL competition levels and hurt some ears. i rode in my friends car today w/ his new enclosure. hes got 4x Pioneer 12" 800W subs, and it flexes the room, the back of the seats, the back window, shakes his front plates, its painful as shit. ideally i want to beat that.

right now im thinking of getting a colossus [1600WRMS x 2 @ 1 ohm] and an SX/XXX 18 w/ 4.3cuft port @ between 28-32hz. then adding a second 18 later this summer/fall. but if the DPs get louder w/ less power..... then i might do that. im hoping to not have to get a new alternator, ive got a 108 stock.
