Gas Prices (Serious Post)

Just saw a video clip on MSN (bunch of total import driving liberal freaks) where some guy was saying we shoud use taxes to push the price of gas up to $5.00 to eliminate the deficit and help social security, etc.

What I would like to know, is why is that prick breathing my air? I hope this is not like a serious issue, raising gas prices any further, because I will personally start a civil war. I hope they have a "Let's raise gas prices and drive Hybrids" protest... I'll wind up old Red Death to about 6500 rpm's and plow right through the bastards.

My car already gets real bad gas mileage as it is and it's really hurting me, and that's at 2.30 a gallon. If it were 5 a gallon i don't know what would happen, i have to start stealing gas from the gas station, stick it up and tell him i want 50 on pump 3.

I think hybrids are a good idea to help save on gas but what the hell do these people plan to do with all these massive SUVs that everyones been buying up for the past decade? Everytime i gat out the damn car, i get out with an extreme headache due to the badass exhaust leaks, o2 sensor will help me get better gas mileage aswell, when it goes bad, it seems like the car burns more gas to keep moving. well, starting in 3rd it is going to break loose on you, that's your one 1:1 gear, the engine and driveline are turning in unisen.

for torque, you increase the gear ratio but then powerband suffers. Are you sure you don't just need to swap the rear end gear, like it si too small?

when there's a will there's a way, I don't see why you coudn't swap the trans gears since you're pretty well maxed with the rear.

Actually according to muscle car club the 1970 Maro didnt get the promised 454 and instead got the 396 which were actually 402 ci, but they kept calling it a 396 to avoid insurance company stuff. Chevy takes care of its boys, huh? :)

Just be glad that you don't drive a diesel truck, on our farm we have a 94 gmc 6.5L diesel, try 60 dollars to fill the fuel tank, it gets somewhere around 11mpg. Gas is about 1.98 here for 89Octane E10. and I'm thinking Farm diesel (no road tax) is around 1.50-1.60 a gallon, but i could be wrong on that....just the number that pops into my mind

Well when you use Diesel you like commit to it, so basicly like you see it rise differently than people who use unlead or premium do since diesel rises slower even though it is higher.

The interior is "stock" although I think it used to be green. It also used to be auto, now has a 4 speed munice in it. It does have a 454, have the serial number and casting codes pinned down to it coming from either a 74 monte carlo or chevelle. I'll post the engine pics when I do the rings and gaskets. This bitch ain't stock under the hood... not even close. But you are right.. the 454 never made it into production... for any Camaro.

As far as it being a bona-fide Z28... can't prove it or disprove it with out the build sheet. The vin number indicates that it was built at the right plant, and has the correct codes in it, but GM didn't code all the trim codes into the vin until a year or two later. I don't feel like spending the $ on something that doesn't really matter much to me anyway. Looks like a Z28, has all the right options (except A/C which may be remedied one day), and is one bad son of a bitch.
