Bought my 92 VR-4 with Borla Catbacks installed. The sound is getting on my nerves. Any recommendations for a factory sounding exhaust system? Do I have to go back to Mitsubishi and order all of the factory components or are there kits available? Any idea on price?
Thanks

Well are you sure you just have hte borla catback and not a downpipe and/or testpipe. Regardless, if you do want to get rid of it, my suggestion would be to put it up for sale on www.3si.org
You could stipulate that the buyer must also give you their original exhaust. If you price it right, I'm sure someone would buy it in a day or 2. And used stock catback exhausts can be found for $75-$100
That is what I would do...that way you get an original exhaust and a few hundred $$$.

maybe check and see if the resonator is removed, if it is, than that tends to make it really loud so you could try putting it back on... it mite help.

As Igovert said, if you still have the stock dp and cat on tehre and just the Borla cat-back is too loud for you, try buying a resonator or small muffler and haveing that installed. WOuld quiet it down but still give you a nice rumble.

i have seen 3 VR4's wich have a well open exhaust's and i must say that these cars dont have a nice hounding engine with an open exhaust.....
at least i think that the exhaust sound of my stock system with removed resonator and intake system sounds better than thoes VR4's then again i have noticed a bit of a differance in a VR4 and a sl

There are no resonators on the Borla TT catback. There isnt even any resonators in the stock TT catback.
