Radiator Fan does not work

Hello all.

I am new to this forum.

My wife has a Daewoo 1.5I (thats the model before the Cielo) and the radiator fans has stopped working. Now i know it is not the fan itself as i connected it doirect tom the battery and it works but it will not work when connected to its normal wiring. Suspoect there is something wrong with ewither the relay or the temperature probe/switch.

appreciate any advice if any one has had similar issues.

would prefer to try to fix myself as money is tight and the local mechaics will slug me $50 (that is Australian $) just to drive into the workshop let alone fixing the problem.

The exact same thing happend to me about a month ago only I didn't notice the temp gage till about a week latter wheh the engine had started running rough and had blown a head gasket.

the thermal switch is on the right hand side of the radiator near the top
if you need to drive it just cross the two wires that go into it and the fan will spin countinuasly untill you replace the switch.
