I am removing the fuel injection and need to use a carburator
what type of manifold and carb. should I use?
I am building a motor for a skiff and want mostly stock parts but a little guts.
How high can they be wound safely?
Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed
thanks

What year head is it?
87 and up have a different mounting pattern to the head.
I have a 2 barrel aluminum manifold for 86 and earlier, and a matching
2 barrel progressive carburator for sale for $20. contact me at [email protected]

It's been a LONG time since I've seen a carburated 2.5L, but if I remember right, you can bolt a carb in place of the throttle body without any modifications. The carb can be found cheap in old (say late 70's) GM compact cars or trucks at the local junkyard and you'll probably be able to rebuild it for very little. Don't forget you'll need a distributor, Mallory makes a dual breaker point model that's perfect for your setup.
As far as RPM's go, anything over 5500 (with a stock bottom end) is probably asking for trouble.
