Any ways to fix a sticky caliper??

My front right caliper decided to stick on my way home tonight. It was pulling really hard to the right and I got out to check it and I could feel the heat from the brakes and also a burning smell.

Is there anyway I can loosen it up a bit without replacing it or rebuilding it??

I just brought it out of storage yesterday after almost 8 months and it was fine all yesterday and today, but tonight it was raining.

Lubing the guide pins should do the trick.

Probably not the caliper, the brake hoses break down inside and get blocked. The high pressure fluid from hitting the brakes will get past but when you release the pressure isn't enough to let the caliper open up.

I'd use a fat drill bit to clean out the holes where the guide pins go (remember you're just cleaning the holes not drilling new ones) and then lube the guide pins and re-assemble.

My general rule of thumb is to not try to repair brake componets on a performance vheicle. Too much it as risk vs. the cost
