opinions on headers

Hello everyone. I have a 95 gsx with an RNR 3" turboback with o2 eliminator, extreme motorsports fuel pump and manual boost controller, SAFC, and an hks turbo timer. I'm new to the site so I thought I would just put that information out there for you. Well my delima is my header... my car has 134k miles on it although, thank the lord, the engine/trany was rebuilt 30k miles ago. I still have the stock header on which is now a lovely brown rust color and is in pretty bad shape. My question is what headers do you recommend?

Pssst....before you get bushwhacked by the pack, its headeR, not headerS (you just got one). But velkommen to the site.
As for your question, I'm not sure if exterior rust has a lot to do with the actual performance, and of all the talk here on upgrades on the forums, header upgrades are usually what NT people get done. Havent really had a lot of turbo people ask about header uppin'...Unless your changing your turbo that actually requires a different header to fit, I think the stocker should flow fine with your current setup. But lol, sorry, I didn't really answer your question... a bunch-o-pipes are just pipes, any smooth design should flow well (but power gains would be miniscule compared to the dough it takes....double the cash and get a bigger snail) :2cents:

Yes, thanks for the correction on the headerS. And its typically called a manifold on a turbo car, header is a term for the NT cars, for technical reasons not worth getting into.
At any rate, the stock 2g manifold runs 9s, maybe faster. There is very little need for a tubular manifold unless you also need to change the turbine inlet flange. In my case, I went with a SFP manifold to run a full garret turbo. If you plan on sticking with the mitsu based turbos, or hybrids with with mitsu turbine housings, there is no need to change that 2g manifold unless it cracks, which is very unlikely (unlike 1g manifolds).

Thanks everyone for the help and the correction. I'm now planning on spending my money on something more usefull such as a front mount. Thanks again.

Good deal. Another very useful way you could spend that money is on DSMlink, since odds are you have an eprom ecu. Could even sell the AFC to get some more cash back. Either one will get you on your way to getting set up for a bigger turbo.
