i found a 96 3000gt with 80k miles and am wondering what things to look for. how can you tell if it had the 60k miles tune up done to it? also, someone told me parts might be real hard to get for this car and to check before i buy it. is it hard to find parts, are they extremley expensive, and does it take a long time for them to come? any info would be much appreciated. thanx

most of the info your looking for will be in the FAQ

as far as finding parts, for used OEM parts you can look in the classified section of www.3si.org

for new OEM parts, you can either use, i believe the websites are
www.mentormitsubishi.com
www.rockvillemitsubishi.com

and as far as aftermarket parts, check out the 3/S tuners on the www.3si.org home page

i read the FAQ, but is there any way to tell if the water pump and timing belt have already been changed?

ask to see documentation of the 60k/120k tuneup. As it says in the FAQ...this is a pretty big deal, and chances are most owners didn't do it themselves. So they probably took it to a dealership and have receipts for the work, if not, at least for parts...any decent seller should have documentation of maintainence on a car like this.
