Interior lights won't go out!

Have a 97' GL and recently the interior lights, dome and floor, will not go out, plus the door lock will not lock when starting to drive. If I push the lock switch it pops back up again. When I remove the dome bulb the door lock problem continues.
Have checked the fuses, ok and replaced one relay, interior lamp, but same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Bob

Spraying the door latching mechanisms with WD-40 may clean and lubricate the door switches controlling the interior lights and fix the problem.

And it works too. I had the problem show up recently and I took a shot at it with WD-40, solved the problem. Wish I had known about 3 years ago, as I spent about $60 in parts to replace the door ajar switches.

I have a 1997 Taurus GL Wagon. The WD-40 worked for me too except for in one place: the wagon door latch. I've saturated the wagon door latch several times but still the dome light won't switch "on" when the wagon door opens, and the power lock in the cargo area won't work when the wagon door is open.
Any suggestions? It's just a minor inconvenience, so I won't be replacing the latch.

mine does the EXACT same thing, its in the ignition. trust me, take a small peice of paper, stick it under the ignition. it will stop as long as the ignition stays "up".lol play around with the ignition when you stop and open the door, see if the beeping stops or if the lights go out.
