Next Project: Revell Mini Cooper

So I'm starting to work on my next project, which is the Revell Mini Cooper. It's the new one, if anybody was wondering. I am building it for my brother who is quite fond of the new Mini. I can't seem to find the digital camera, so no pics at the moment, but nothing is done yet. I've sanded things down and am currently waiting for it to dry before I prime it. As for the color, he saw my Impreza and asked for his Mini to be that color too, so the choice is to go with British Green. Maybe people won't disagree quite so much this time! :D
I do have one question for you guys. Revell has kindly made the wheels chrome, but I'd like to do them in white. What can I use to strip the chrome? Will CSC do?
Lastly, here's a picture I'm going to use as reference. I got it from www.mini.com (http://www.mini.com) where you can customize your mini.

Okay, so I've finally got some pics of what I have done so far and I have to say that I think I'm finally figuring out how to use these spray cans.

One other thing I've found is that time of day makes a huge difference in how the pictures turn out. I tried to take some other ones at around noon and they were very dark. These were taken just before dusk and I think they capture what it looks like in real life much better than my noontime pics.

The front bumper is molded separately, so it is currently residing on its very own Snapple bottle.

I haven't really tried fitting much together yet. I'll let you know when I've progressed further. As for the mold lines, they were fairly light and they also tried to hide them as best they could.

That's pretty much what I figured. Besides, G-Forces did the same kit and he said something about the chrome rubbing off easily.

Since I last updated, I have moved, so it took me a while to get settled and to continue working on this kit.
Okay, I think i now know why Jay :( -ed. While the interior fit together okay, the exterior is a different story. So far, all I've done though are the tail lights. The holes were a bit large for the lights themselves. Not only that, but they don't give you much space to glue them in. Anyways, I'm sure all you guys really care about are the pics, so here they are:

Oh, and the front bumper part is just taped on with masking tape. That's why it's half off.

Very nice job Max Power,
... Yes, you have to paint the wheels with white color and the roof also.
I have this model waiting for me but i will paint mine with red.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I hope to have this thing done in a couple of weeks (i'm no P-man!).

I think you need to paint the front bumper before gluing it. It has a "lip" that hooks over the bottom. I don't really know how to describe it. I'll try to get pics after work today.
Yes, you have to paint the wheels with white color and the roof also
I thought that was the case at first, but then I went to the official mini site (http://www.mini.com) and they have a little 3d thing where you can customize your mini. There is one color scheme where the roof is the body color and the side mirrors are just black. I like that better than having the white roof and the white/black side mirrors. I figure that since that comes from the official Mini site that that color scheme is available on real minis.
