I have a 83' camaro berlinetta with power windows, yesterday I was rolling down my driver side window, and when I went to roll it back up it wouldnt move at all... My passenger side windows motor has been starting to slow down allot so I dont even move that one anymore, but my driver side window always moved with ease, so I dont think it has anything to do with a bad motor, I could be mistaken of course, but I think it is electrical and here is my reasoning...
When I try to roll up or down my passenger side window I can see my battery gaugue move down in volt meter, and when I try to move my driver side window there is no movement what so ever... Before it stoped working, it use to make the battery meter go down as well. So theres no signal going to the window motor, I think there has to be a bad connection, or some thing wrong with the wires? Its weird I never had a problem with it for the 5 years Ive had it, and then it just stoped in just a flash, it doesnt even make an attemp to move. I tried switching the plastic buttons that move the windows in my center console, I switched the driver side one with the passenger side one and same results of no signal or movement of the windows... I also took off part of my door panel to get to where the window moves and I tried to force it up while my dad pressed the up button for the window cuz we thought it might have been caught on something, but it didnt budge at all, I was putting a lot of force on it aswell so what can be wrong?
I dont really like the idea of having my window down all the time, lucky for me its summer and not raining here in so-cal... But bad for me that its so-cal and ppl can easily get into my car and try to take it if they want.
Anyways any help is much appreciated, I dont want to have to buy a whole new window motor if I can avoid it.
