90 Bronco 2.9 will not start

Truck has the standard 2.9 liter motor. It has been in my back yard to 2 years and has been started occasionally during that time. My son had driven the truck and had the fuel pump replaced several months before it was parked. I tried to start it last week with no luck. I finally sprayed a little fuel into the air intake and the engine would run then sputter out. I diconnected the fuel lines and could not find any sign of fuel being pumped from the tank. I have not replaced the filter but will pick one up this weekend. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what else to check if the filter is not the solution. Thanks......

I had an 87 bronco II with a 2.9 and it had two fuel pumps. One in the tank and one on the rail just under the drivers side. Which pump did you replace and when you turn the key on do you hear either of them prim up? If you replaced the one on the rail, are you sure that you got the post correct on the pump for the eletricity going to it... if you get them backwards it will pump the fuel back to the tank and not to the engine *I know this back I had this happen! :P * Check that... OR the eletric lines going to the pump could be faulty. Had that happen to. See if you can hear the pump Prime up when you turn the key on... if you don't hear anything it could be that the pump is out again (yes had that happen too) or the eletric lines that charge the pump are faulty. Don't know if that will solve your problem but at least it is somewhere to start looking! ;) Hope that helps!!! Oh and there are two fuel filters on it too... one is in a little black canaster looking thing before the one on the rail and there is a high pressure filter after the pump on the rail. That is if the 90 follows the 87,,, which it might since my book that I have is for 83 to 92... Hope that helps!!!
