Leaking Pumpkin

Alright so it appears that fluid is leaking out of the bottom of my pumpkin, I am guessing it is just a gasket. How much should this cost to fix, and is this a huge problem? Thanks a lot! By the way it is a 1998 LS 2x4

Do it yourself... Put a drain pan under the pumpkin. Pull the cover (13mm bolts) Spray out liberally with brake clean (1 can should do it)

Scrape EVERY LAST SINGLE BIT of the old gasket off the rear and the cover itself. Install in reverse. Hand torque in a cross hatch pattern from the middle out. Fill pumpkin.

Cost- Gasket 7.00

Gear oil (80/90) 2 bottles 8.00

Wow that was surprisingly painless, one last question though, what size tool do I use to get the drain hole open for the pumpkin? Thanks a lot!

You should be able to use a 3/8 drive rachet and an extension. The extension will fit in the square hole.

Sometimes they don't, the best thing to do is use a snap-on pipe socket..(available on their site for about 9 bux) That's not really a 3/8 hole, it's slightly smaller.

Thanks so much for all of your help guys, it was really a nice project to fill my afternoon and I had a good time doing it. Got dirty as hell but hey, thats what Gojo is for! I think I probably saved myself a lot of money by doing it myself, the gasket was only $3.48!
